Historic beauty defines Riverside Park. The park includes a swimming pool, playground, tennis courts, ice rink, and a community room which is also the warming house in the winter. The outdoor hockey rink doubles as a multi-purpose asphalted roller blade rink. There are a half dozen landscape beds throughout the park and the Greenway Bike Path runs along the Red River.
Things have changed a lot since the 1997 flood. The park is on both sides of the flood wall and dike protection system that has been put into place. The Grand Forks park District and The City of Grand Forks work together to protect the facilities and pool during spring floods on the wet side of the flood protection system.
