Depending on the type and size of your event, you may need GF Park Board approval and special use permits, including liquor permits. We can guide you through the process, and our staff members can help you secure the appropriate permits.
Keep in mind you must allow adequate time, so contact us as soon as you are starting to plan an event at a Grand Forks Park District park or other facility. We start taking venue reservations on February 1st of the current year. (If February 1st falls on a weekend, reservations will be taken the following Monday.)
Festivals

Festivals and large gatherings are welcome at most of our park areas. The scheduling of festivals will be subject to the availability of the park and expected use of the park by the public. Access to major park facilities will be maintained during the festivals.
The Grand Forks Park District reserves the right to cancel a festival if safety concerns arise or if there is risk to the park or its facilities.
The Grand Forks Park District must approve all festivals, and the applicant/event coordinator must complete a Special Use Permit along with any other permits/forms required. Some festivals may require Grand Forks Park Board approval. Special Use Permits are available at the Grand Forks Park District main office.
For Profit / Fundraising Events

The Park District will establish the fees for large events. For any event at which merchandise and/or food is sold, and admission or entry fees are collected, the Grand Forks Park District requires that a percentage/fee of the gross sales be paid to the Grand Forks Park District.
Weddings in the Park

It is the policy of the Grand Forks Park District to allow weddings to be held in any of our public parks. Reservations are required to ensure that other events are not scheduled in the same areas during the time requested. Reservations will be taken at our main office on a first come, first served basis starting February 1st of the current year.

ALCOHOL PERMITS
Alcohol may be consumed in public parks by permit only. Alcohol Permits are available at the GF Park District main office during business hours. Permits will be made available after business hours at the GF Police Department.
